Positioning is an infrastructure problem
In closed and underground environments, the useful design question is where to place positioning nodes and gateways so the system can identify zone transitions, active galleries, and critical movement points.
Gateway role
Gateways act as the communication bridge between field devices and the central system. They collect selected signals from tags, iBeacons, sensors, or nearby devices, then move that data toward the monitoring platform through the available backbone.
Beacon and tag role
Beacon and tag components help define identity, zone relationship, and movement context. Range, enclosure, battery, and approval details are handled in the project documentation for the selected hardware configuration.
